Never Happier

My Message: I'm never happier than when I dance. I'm not terribly good at it, but I love it. {end story}

Ok, so here's the thing we love about this.  We love to dance too.  And we suck at it.  So we don't do it very much…because we don't want to look like a jerk. (Anyone see the Elaine Dancing episode of Seinfeld?)  We find it so inspiring when someone doesn't let their inhibitions or not being very good at something keep them from doing something they love.

What's one thing you love doing?  When are you "never happier than"?

What's one thing you might do more of if you thought you were better at it?

Who wants to come dancing with us tonight?  Let's get our happy on!

    I love to sing but sadly I cannot carry a tune. It doesn’t stop me from singing all the time at home and in the car though. My family finds it cute and their laughter makes me laugh and we all have a good time with it.

    I would ski more in the winter, and play more tennis and swim more in the summer. Not being very good at skiing and tennis make me do them less, and not looking very good in a bathing do it makes me do it less.

      Her Sister, don’t let anyone or anything hate on your happy. Especially yourself. We know, easier said than done. Yet our lives can somtimes be so short of the things we like doing, that if we have the time to do them…let’s not let not being “good” get in the way of a good time. XO,

    I would have more sex, seriously. It’s something I’m insecure about because I really don’t think I am very good at it. I do like it when he is.

    Art. I would paint more. Maybe I’ll take a class…

    There’s just something magical when music is on and I can move. Sometimes it’s frustrating, when my body can’t manage what my mind sees and feels from the music, but it’s worth it. Dancing is when I feel like myself. It’s coming home after a long trip and sleeping in your own bed again. I feel whole.

    I’m not a person that’s very secure in myself, but years of getting caught dancing in the living room by my parents and sibling, or more recently, my roommate in my dorm, I’ve found that the peace I get from it is worth the embarrassment. I never realized how much it mattered to me until recently. I’m glad I did

      Hey, Anonymous Poster…from the moment our son, now 5, could stand up without falling down, he’d move to music. We’d be in a grocery store, a clothing store, any place that had a soundtrack and little man would be moving. When we turned music on in the car or the house, he’d groove. Music is absolutely inside him. And sounds like it is you too.

      Way to go with overcoming embarrassment (which is really so meaningless in the scheme of things, right?) to let yourself go…and move. Yay for you, and thanks for sharing. XO, OOC
