WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND?

Not a Good Fit

Have you ever wanted – or needed – a job and not gotten it?  She has, and it sucks:

I just got *another* email informing me that while I interviewed well and the hiring manager liked me, I am not a good fit for the position.

I feel like I keep getting so close and then … SLAM, nothing. {end story}

It can be so hard to keep plugging along, trying to find that next job, that new job, and getting close but not getting it.  Has this ever happened to you?  How'd you kep your spirits up when they keep getting smacked down?  Remember, if you share your story you can help change hers.  Go on…

    I’d moved from SF to NY to be with my boyfriend, and this is really even more his story than mine. Everything eas going great with us, but we really wanted to go back to SF. He got an interview with this big SF co, they flew him out twice, even had him look around to see where we’d want to live. Everything was going great until he didn’t get the job. We were devastated. Then, we realized things do and don’t happen for reasons, and this was the best job he never got.

      So get this. It can be so easy to think that only the good things that DO happen are the things that are meant to. Sometimes, it’s the things that don’t that lead wonderfully to what do and should. Thanks for sharing, KSE.

    I believe in job, real estate and relationship karma. Like she says right above, sometimes it’s the ones we don’t get that leave us open for the better ones to come along.

    I’ve been looking for a job for 2 years. Am an over-qualified Hollywood assistant, wondering why I spent time and money on a law degree to answer someone’s phone for minimum wage and no over-time.

    OMG!!! This happened to me so many times, and I didn’t think it would. At all! My older brother was the disorganized one. I always had a plan, had everything all lined up, and then I graduated from college. I was living at home and getting job rejections constantly. It sucked!!1 You are not alone. I finally got a job and moved out. It will happen….
